The Challenge

Due to deeply ingrained gender stereotypes and socio-economic barriers, women face obstacles that affect their access to quality educational and job opportunities in Latin America. This leads to a lower participation of women in key sectors of the growing digital economy and represents a growing economic and social cost. The gender gap in the formal workforce of Latin America is striking, with only six out of ten women participating. In the technology sector, the gender disparity is even more concerning. According to the UN, only 35% of women study STEM in Latin America.

Our Grant

The Foundation’s grant will train 100 women in Colombia as Front-End Developers and UX Designers through a remote six-month bootcamp. The training provides a transformative immersive experience for women in Colombia who have not had access to quality education and job opportunities. We aim to connect at least 80% of graduates with quality jobs that significantly increase their earnings by at least threefold. Furthermore, we plan to diversify the tech profiles that our students graduate by piloting a new bootcamp track in Data Analysis with 30 students, as well as incorporating the use of AI in our bootcamp curriculum in order to complement the technical skills our graduates have.
